Shih Tzu  Club

As a Kennel Club registered Breed Club, which was established in 1981, Northern Counties Shih Tzu Clubs’ primary objective is being proactive in the preservation and protection of the Shih Tzu as defined by the Kennel Club Breed Standard in the UK

By promoting breed awareness, providing reliable information and assistance to owners of Shih Tzu in the Northern Region, or by referring enquiries to other regional Breed Clubs where relevant, we work towards ensuring that owning a Shih Tzu will be a positive experience.

Shih Tzu are an intelligent, alert, active, small breed that can be a wonderful addition to the household.

They make ideal family pets, but also have specific grooming requirements.   We encourage potential first time owners to contact a Breed Club to obtain information on the breed, or on locating breeders who will provide ongoing support and assistance on the care, health and welfare of the puppies they breed.

Our canine companions have an average life expectancy of between twelve and fifteen years, so it is important that you source a healthy well-bred puppy from a knowledgeable, and responsible breeder.   If you are not located in the Northern Counties region and require information for one of the  other regional Breed Clubs, we can point you in the right direction.

THIS IS A LIMITED EDITION OF 400.

The Club publishes updated for these books every two to three years depending on the amount of Champions made up in that period.
